Mt. Arashima, 1,523 meters above sea level, located in Ono City, Fukui Prefecture, is also known as “Ono Fuji”. In winter, the beech trees are wonderfully covered in fog and ice. Join our guides to climb, learn, and feel the mountain, which is also a great introduction to winter alpine climbing.

・ Beacon: 1,000 yen
・ Helmet: 500 yen
Personal PreparationRucksack (approx. 30L), rainwear (separate top and bottom), crampons (10 toes or more), ice axe, harness, helmet, warm clothing (down, etc.), underwear and midlayer clothing (non-cotton underwear, fleece), winter gloves, warm hat, drinks, food (high calorie).

By car:  From Fukui-Kita IC of Hokuriku Expressway to Ono IC of Chubu Jukan Expressway: Katsuhara Ski Area Trailhead  Parking lot: Approximately 20 cars can be parked at the trailhead.  By public transportation: From Nagoya: Transfer to Hokuriku Line from Maibara and get off at Fukui Station. From Osaka or Kyoto: Take the direct Thunderbird or JR Kyoto Line to Tsuruga, transfer to Hokuriku Line and get off at Fukui Station.
